Post Race BBQ

Hello All,

You’re cordially invited to the annual NHRR Visits Fair Haven post-race BBQ.

When:  June 14, 12 pm, after the USATF Grand Prix Spring Street Mile (Manchester CT at 8 AM), come when you’re ready, we’ll go until late afternoon or evening if need be.

Where: 4 Lewis Street

What:  food, drinks and good company.  Salad master Lina will be whipping up some Mediteranean inspired, vegan friendly salads (trust me, they’re very tasty, even to a dedicated carnivore).  The grill will be open and so also BBQ meat for post-race protein replenishment.

Bring friends, family, and kids.  If weather is good we can hang out in the backyard and there is plenty of room inside in case of rain.  Also a playground across the street if little (or big) ones want to play.

BYOB and BYOM (bring your own meat).  I’ll have some drinks and proteins on hand but always good to have variety and supply.

The exciting part of the afternoon is the chance to explore Fair Haven!  Some parts, well most parts, of Fair Haven score high on the sketchy scale but Lewis Street is safe and pleasant.  Driving east on Humphries, Grand Ave or Chapel Street until you get to the Quinnipiac River (Front Street) puts you in my neighborhood.  If you cross a bridge over a river you’ve gone too far and beware because you’re almost  in East Haven and East Haven is a strange place.  Lewis Street is one way  so you can’t drive up from Front Street; you have to drive down from Pine Street (this makes sense after googling  the address).   My house is baby blue and directly across the street from a cute little park with a dragon water pad.

RSVP is nice but not necessary.    Hope to see you,  Andrew

I will try to stop by, but I have plans around 2:00 so it will depend what time we get back from the race/shower/etc.

Unfortunately, this is the same day as Ian's first birthday party, even though that starts later. I'm probably going to be stuck doing food prep.
