I'm a big fan of hard sci-fi, the "harder" the better. As such, authors like Iain M. Banks, Stephen Baxter, or Dan Simmons appeal to me. I also enjoy "lighter" fare, such as William Gibson, Jerry Pournelle, Larry Niven or Alan Dean Foster. Though I mostly tend towards sci-fi these days, I used to love R.A. Salvatore, David Gemmell and the Dragon of Argonath series (Bazil Broketail). Oh, and Stephen R. Donaldson!
I'd love to read one of the Foundation books, or anything by William Gibson. I've read most of them before, but I think they're short and accessible enough to be good for a book group. I'd also enjoy The Boat of a Million Years, by Poul Anderson. It's a cool story of immortals traced through time, and something I've been meaning to get around to reading. I could use the impetus.
I love to bike, climb and make music. I sang professionally for a bit, and still perform occasionally in various groups. And I'm practicing my bass, as I've just started a Johnny Cash cover band called Johnny Dollar.
Hi, I'm David. I've recently moved back to New Haven for work, and I'm loving the Elm City, my home now for just about 8 years collectively.
