Africa will feel the brunt of the adverse effects of climate change. But how prepared are we to meet these challenges? How do we make sure that Africa’s development drive takes adequate consideration of the environment? What interesting environmental initiatives are already being implemented on the continent that we can plug into?
These are some of the questions we’ll be addressing at the June New Ideas for Africa in London. The theme is “Environment and Sustainable Development” and we’ll be joined by Charlene Hewat, CEO of Zimbabwean NGO, Tree Africa (www.enviroafrica.org) who will share some of the work of her organisation. We will then open the session up for everyone to share their views and experiences about living sustainably.
After the discussion, we will have the ideas workshop and welcome practical initiatives around enviroment and sustainable development in Africa.
Please extend this invitation to other people in your network who have a passion for the environment and stimulating positive change in Africa.
