Cool down this summer by tubing down the James River in Scottsville!
Super detailed info below - many of your questions are answered, read carefully, please. :)
By RSVP'ing/ reserving/signing up for this meetup, without exception, you acknowledge that you have read ALL the details, understand and agree to abide by all the safety policies, alcohol consumption laws, required waivers, and refund policies involved with this meetup and the James River Reeling & Rafting Company.
10:15 Carpool / Car-caravan to Scottsville; give your waivers to the organizer or fill them out in the car
11:30-45 Arrive at base, give organizer your waivers, change, check-in, get any extras (ex. cooler tubes; life jackets)
12:00 Get on the shuttle bus; get safety instructions
12:15 Pick out a tube to float down the river, optional ropes; get in from the shore and start floatin' down!
2:15-4:15pmish* Get back to base (by shuttle/walk or cars), clean up and change in to dry clothes (both lockers have free hot showers in them)
2:45ish-5pmish* Grab something to eat in Scottsville area (optional) and drive back
4pmish - 8pmish* Back at cars in Richmond
*These times are totally depend on 2 things: how fast the river is flowing that day and if you and your carpooling group decides to stay to eat in Scottsville. Please do not ask me if you can "get off the river early".
*REQUIRED and Strongly recommended*:
- Payment in advance *** REQUIRED
- NO FLIP FLOPS in the water. REQUIRED (This is not my rule, I can not grant an exception)
- Do not wear anything that will fall off easily, or that you do not want to get wet, or do not mind losing in the river. Assume you will get wet from head to toe and will fall in or out of your tube into the flowing water. Most gals and guys (in the water) wear either "active wear" (think kayaking/canoying attire) or just swim wear with a shirt and shorts over top that will allow for easy movement and comfort.** You are responsible for any damage or loss to your own belongings.
As Seen On the River. . . **In-the-water clothing examples** (think comfortable movement)
***Payment and associated costs | Required Waiver Form***
"Total amount of rental fee is required with reservation. Refunds are available with a one week notice of cancellation. "NO SHOW" will forfeit their payment." "Signed waivers are required." These are the rules from James River Reeling & Raft.
We are going to reserve as a group because reservations are required. Your payment must be marked as received PAID through this event page in order to reserve a spot. If you pay by credit card or on-line there is ~$1.03 fee. I will give you $1 CASH back when I see you at the "park-n-ride" spot. If we get at least 25 people to sign-up for the meetup and pay by June 14th, I will give you each $3 CASH back when I see you at the "park-n-ride" spot. Of course, if you pay $25 cash you will get $1 more back for either situation.
For carpooling, I recommend that you pay your host driver $4 dollars CASH per person at the START of the ride for gas. (140 mi round trip/~28 mpg*current price per gallon/4-5 ppl per car)
Refunds offered if:
Additional notes: The deposit and refund policy is that of James River Reeling & Rafting, not RNIT. For the breakdown of fees please see the meetup details. Since you are paying through the meetup, the funds stay in the RNIT PayPal account (not me) until we pay them.
Payments you make go to the organizer, not to Meetup. You must make refund requests to the organizer.
