One of the HOTTEST variety shows in town, quite literally!
Start your weekend of Se7en Sins at this FREE First Friday event that kicks off a month of performances.  (http://rvafirstfridays.com/)
Costumes and/or masks not required but certainly are a fun! One year we wore dresses and masks, another some folks wore sari's, and another we went as pirates, anything goes!
Like all First Fridays, the entire area will be alive with arts, live indoor and outdoor street performances.  Inside Gallery 5, you'll be inundated with visual hedonism via genuine burlesque, magic, comedic, vaudevillian and other performances all night long.
Outside, your eyes will be treated to amazing fire dancing performances by some of the most talented fire dancers in the area and your ears will be entertained by the infamous PLF and their DJ's! (Party Liberation Front)

Parking - There really isn't a specific place to park - you'll need to find street parking. You might have luck near the church (400 Marshall street) - or near the park near the corner of Madison and Brook - no worries - we'll wait for you! Just text me and let me know you're coming[masked]-RNIT/7648

There is also a honor box lot about two or three blocks east on Marshall.

Oh I wish we would have known sooner: we could have each come as a different cookie! Or even a cookie jar! That would have been really cool. Don't think there's time now though...too bad. :(

NME- I really want to try this, but am a total Rookie! I saw your message regarding texting and that you'll have a sign which is perfect/great! Waiting to hear about your costume so I can follow the theme. Will streets be blocked off? Is there parking provided or available near the Gallery and is it literally a gallery, or is it a theater, etc?

    1 · September 29, 2013

    • Jason F.

It's a small gallery with a theatre. They have many shows and host a lot of performance art events such as burlesqe, comedy shows and the like. The building itself is pretty interesting as it has once been a firehouse as well as a police station. But enough trivia. I recommend this highly.

To echo Jason's remarks, yes . . . and also yes the SIDE street the performers will be performing on will be blocked off, but not Marshall itself. . . and really anything goes as far as a costume is concerned - you don't have to wear a costume at all even! :) I'm totally open for suggestions. . .

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
