Please tell us briefly about your overall interest in food and food books.

I adore food and, for a long time, have wanted to learn more about cooking. As a writer, I read a lot and enjoy food books and cookbooks (current reading: Home Cooking by Laurie Colwin).

Who are your top three food writers?

I don't think I have read quite enough in the genre to say...Julia Child, Laurie Colwin, Julie Powell. Recently enjoyed a memoir about French cooking by Elizabeth Bard. I want to read Ruth Reichl.

Do you like to cook? If so, what type of cooking do you do? (It's just fine if you don't cook.)

I do like to cook but am not very fast/knowledgeable. I tend to favor Mediterranean dishes and Indian vegetable curries.

Will you please post a recognizable photo of yourself? (That's a requirement for this Meetup.)
