Yes, Absolutely! Anytime on the weekends would be just fine.

Yeah I really liked the Bourdain book as well. I got it on audiobook and listened to it in my car on the way to Minneapolis...its a two day drive and really make the time fly by.

Thanks for considering some altertitives.

Sincerely-
Eleni

Thanks so much for responding.  I am really glad that you liked the last two books.  I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Bourdain book.  So much so that I just bought his new one--Medium Raw.

I can see where a weeknight would just not be possible for you.  I will wait to hear from the others as to changing it up.  We could also think about doing a "follow-up" the week afterward, on Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon.  Would either of those work for you?  I am always happy to have more discussions about good food books.

I hope I meet you sometime soon!

I have been reading the books, but will never be able to make it on a weeknight.  I work in Kenner, live in New Olreans and have a dog waiting to be walked, fed and loved on. That means that the earliest I could meet on a weeknight is 8 or 9PM.  At any rate I enjoyed the last two books and will keep reading either way.

Hi everyone--

Hope summer is treating you very well indeed. We all enjoyed our first Meetup so much that I am really looking forward to the next one.

Right now, I am planning for us to meet Wednesday August 11--unless the majority would rather it on a weekend. I thought weeknights would be more free, but I am open to changing that. Please let me know.

Regarding books--I want to get the titles out there right away so everyone can read and be ready to talk.

Some titles I am interested in are In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan and 52 Loaves by William Alexander.

Please give me your thoughts on those two books, as well as suggestions for books the group might enjoy. I am particularly interested in hearing about recipe/cookbooks that we might want to discuss.

If you would like to bring something to share (not a requirement), the theme will be fruit desserts. I will offer a Prosecco and Summer Fruit Terrine.

All the best---

Lorraine
