Using visuals to persuade Judges, Juries, and Opposing Counsel

This month's discussion topic is visual persuasion, lead by Deborah Faust and Scott Newnam. Deborah has been practicing law for three decades, and now dedicates her practice to helping lawyers. Scott's background is in the video production and directing, and he now specializes in helping lawyers produce compelling visuals for trial.

Whether it's a simple tactic like fancy letterhead or your favorite "power suit," or something more advanced like a stunning, high-tech visual 3D timeline, we want to discuss how you go beyond the briefs and arguments to prove your point.

If you have a specific question on visual persuasion that's been bugging you, post it in the comments and to help get the discussion going

This was my first Meetup event and I thoroughly enjoyed learning about different avenues of relaying an unforgettable message using content and creativity. I'm sure I'll see you all at the next event.

The art of persuasion is key to success in the legal field. Looking forward to this week's presentation on visual persuasion, here's a link to a study that looks at the psychology of persuasion - from a legal perspective! I love it when my two favorite subjects (law and psychology) come together! http://www.persuasionstrategies.com/sites/default/files/publications/pdf/Visual_Presentation.pdf Looking forward to seeing everybody Thursday!

Here's a link to an excellent article highlighting what Judson Mitchell and his students have been working on at Loyola Law, which was discussed at our last meetup!
