Pay Equity Advocates,
All Hands on Deck!!! We learned late last night that Senator Ed Murray's version of the Louisiana Equal Pay for Women Act (SB 153) is tentatively scheduled to be heard before the Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee tomorrow, Wednesday,
April 17, 2013.
We do not have a time for the hearing as of yet, but will let you know as soon as we do. Of course, this date is subject to change, as we have seen happen so many times. HOWEVER, we will lobby as if the date is set in stone.
We have two URGENT REQUESTS of you today:
1) Please lobby the Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee hard today, as this is our last day to do so! It is best to call their offices, but if you cannot do so, please send them an e-mail flagged priority.
If any of these committee members are in your district, please make sure you contact them, and tell your fellow constituents to do the same. Constituents views and requests carry a lot of weight with the legislators!
2) We need three or four people to testify at tomorrow's committee hearing. Please let me know ASAP if you are able to do so.
