Ever had goosebumps listening to a choir sing? Do you enjoy singing and secretly wish you could be in that choir, but feel you're not up to it? Don't worry! So did we, but we got together to do it anyway because singing makes us feel so good! We're an adult amateur beginner to intermediate choir, all about providing a fun and safe environment for you to discover or improve your Voice. Come and join us!!
We're a mixed bunch of Voices from all walks of life and many different countries. We don't ask anyone to audition to join or even to know how to read music. That's not how we work. Rebecca, our classically trained vocal leader, has a unique easy to follow and engaging style, which will get you singing stuff you never thought you could without you even noticing! And you will also find that your Voice and ability to pick up tunes just by listening to them will improve in no time. We did!
We get together most Monday nights in central London to sing all sorts of different genres: from rock&roll to 30s pop, modern pop to folk, Motown to spirituals and traditional African songs. We meet at the American Church on Tottenham Court Road because it's so central, not because we're a religious choir. We work during school terms, the current one finishing on 1 July with a low-key open rehearsal to share our love of singing with friends and family.
Sessions are £12 on a drop-in basis - with concession rates available for students and seniors (£7 per session) or if you pay for the term in full (equivalent to £10 per session).
If you're not sure whether we're the right choir for you, no problem. The first session is free so just come and say hello. We'd love to meet you!
