Sunset in Deering Estate (Free entrance)

DEERING ESTATE

New Photo opportunity event

(Its FREE)

Deering Estate invites us to the Spring Photography Exhibit opening this

Wednesday, March 20, from 6-10pm.

It promises to be a beautiful show. Its a free event and you can come with your gears and take photos before the sun goes down. The colors can be breathtaking and watching the birds reflect the pinks of the sunset is incredible.

Sadly, Cesar nor Iram will be there due to a previous commitment,

but we hope you enjoy this new photo opportunity.

I found out that they gave Iram the wrong time information, so it was not this Meetup's fault that Security/Guard was not aware we were invited to arrive at 6. I was one of the first there and waited through the rain. They were nice enough to open the doors for us half an hour before their intended 7 pm time, so we were able to go in at 6:30ish.
Though the weather did not cooperate with us for a sunshine shoot, we were able to go inside the houses which are really beautiful plus there was a nice photo exhibit and free appetizers.
I think those of us that did go inside made lemonade out of lemons, despite the weather.
I appreciate the fact that being part of this Meetup allows us for unique opportunities like these. Normally one cannot enter this place during the golden hours.
Thanks Iram for letting us know about it and posting it. Next time, just make sure the weather cooperates!

Was there at 6pm.. Gates were closed and there didn't seem to be anyone else there with photo equipment for this meet up. Was a waste of time, left after waiting about 30 minutes since the rain was only getting worse we decided to cut our losses.

Unfortunately Deering Estate gates were closed at 6 PM. It started raining. The staff wasn't aware of this Meetup at 6:00 PM. They confused the photo shoot with another event that was taking place at 7:00 PM. They finally allowed us access to the property at 6:40 PM to - as far as I know - the only two group members that showed up to this late afternoon photo opportunity.

I was there at 6:40 and had no problem. Unfortunately it was drizzling and there were only a few of us.

I'm a little confused, at the top it says access is free, yet in the driving directions in two places it states that tickets to the Estate are available for purchase at the Main Gate ticket booth - is it free or is there a charge to go into the Estate where the photo exhibit is in. Also if we arrive early, what time will they allow us on the grounds of the Estate, never been here before.

I have the same question. Also is it ok to arrive later? Is there a limit on attendance? If so I will free my spot for someone else as I'm tentative..
