Dear Asian Professional,
I'm Richard Young (add me on Facebook and LinkedIn!), the founder and organizer of your New York Asian Professionals Meetup.
Before I tell you about the free movie tickets that I've scored for you guys, can you do me a favor and tell your friends and colleagues to join this group at http://meetup.nyapm.com ? We're about to be overtaken by a DC group as the largest Asian Meetup in the world =(
On to the good news! We have a limited amount of free tickets to Pot of Good Fortune and Red Light Revolution, two comedies that are being featured at the Friars Club Film Festival. The directors of those two films are flying in (from Japan and China, respectively) for a Q&A after the screening.
Edison Chen and Kelly Hu are also expected to be in attendance for the New York premiere of their film, Almost Perfect. Unfortunately we couldn't get free tickets for this one, but I did manage to get you a 80% discount off the all access pass which will definitely get you into this screening (and all the others, plus all the parties).
Here's the URL to check everything out:

UPCOMING EVENTS - MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS
Book Club: Bamboo Ceiling and Friend-Zoned Phil
Wednesday, October 19 - 7:30 PM @ Mooncake Foods
A recent article in the careers column of Fortune renews debate on the Bamboo ceiling, while the latest Internet meme (Friend-Zoned Phil) brings to the forefront the question of Asian masculinity. Read the short article and check out the meme, then come discuss. If you've never been to Mooncake Foods, the food is great and they have Sapporo draft pints for $2.50.
Oct 2011 NYAPM Happy Hour - LADIES FREE
Monday, October 24 - 7:00 PM @ Parlour Midtown
Come and meet fellow Asian professionals in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Relax after work and meet some new people. There are no introductions or presentations, only an unstructured opportunity to mix and mingle. Our monthly Happy Hour is our flagship event that started it all. This event is free for ladies and $10 for guys (guys — money will be collected at the door, and you'll get one drink ticket good for beer, wine, or well).
Hope to see you soon!
