Dear Asian Professional,

I'm Richard Young (add me on Facebook and LinkedIn!), the founder and organizer of your New York Asian Professionals Meetup.

So after yesterday's email (titled "I have free Harold and Kumar t-shirts and posters for you") I found out that some of you didn't even open the email, because you thought that I was just giving away free shirts!

I'm actually trying to support John Cho (Harold) and Kal Penn (Kumar):

A movie's financial success these days is almost exclusively contingent on its opening weekend ticket sales. How much A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas makes in its first three days of release will serve as an indicator to the commercial viability of movies starring Asian Americans. Therefore, an impressive opening weekend for HK3D will help send the following important messages to Hollywood:

- Movies starring Asian American actors can be profitable
- There is an audience for Asian American movies
- Make more movies featuring Asian American characters

Although the showing doesn't start until 8:30pm, I will be at Mooncake Foods starting at 6:30pm for dinner and drinks... and to give you free t-shirts and posters. Warner Brothers has asked that we take some pictures wearing their garishly bright green and red shirts, so please be social and join me!

You can get full details here:

I also highly recommend getting tickets in advance through Fandango (see the link on the side of the page) just in case it sells out.

Hope to see you tomorrow!
