Dear Asian Professional,
I'm Richard Young (add me on Facebook and LinkedIn!), the founder and organizer of your New York Asian Professionals Meetup (founded December 2005 and the largest Asian Meetup in the world).
Our flagship happy hour is next Monday (the 22nd), but this week we've got the $2.50 pints of Sapporo book club on Wednesday, and the movie Tai Chi Zero on Friday. If you haven't RSVPed yet, please do so now! This not only helps us plan but also entices more people to go. =)
Details and links after the break (check out our sponsors XTRUCASE and Arden Reed while you're here):

UPCOMING EVENTS - MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS
October 2012 NYAPM Book Club - $2.50 pints of Sapporo
Wednesday, October 17 - 7:30 PM @ Mooncake Foods (Chelsea)
Smaller and more intimate than our happy hours, the book club is a sit-down dinner&drinks event where we discuss the topic of the month. Talks are started by going over the assigned reading, which is usually a short but interesting newspaper article. This month, it's the book Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.
Watch a Movie - Tai Chi Zero!
Friday, October 19 - 8:40 PM @ AMC Empire 25
In legendary Chen Village, everyone is a martial arts master, and uses a powerful form of Tai Chi in all aspects of their life. Yang has arrived to try and learn it, only to find that it's forbidden for the villagers to teach their secret style to an outsider. But when a mysterious man comes to town with a frightening steam-powered machine and plans to build a railroad through a village, the villagers realize they may have no choice but to put their faith in Yang, who has a secret power of his own. With action directed by the legendary Sammo Hung (Ip Man 1 & 2), Tai Chi 0 is a full-on steampunk kung-fu throw down that will knock you out of your seat.
October 2012 NYAPM Happy Hour - LADIES FREE
Monday, October 22 - 7:00 PM @ Parlour
Come and meet fellow Asian professionals in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Relax after work and meet some new people. There are no introductions or presentations, only an unstructured opportunity to mix and mingle.
Our monthly Happy Hour is our flagship event that started it all. This event is free for ladies and $10 for guys (guys money will be collected at the door, and you'll get one drink ticket good for beer, wine, or cocktail).
See you soon!
