Introduction
I am a 32 year old mother of two boys, ages 4 & 6. I am a PT caregiver for an elderly person and I have a social work backround. My son who is 6 has special needs and requires ALOT of attention.
Are you a CareGiver for someone who has a developmental disability or is on the autism spectrum?
My son who is 6 has special needs. He is NOS but is in a self-contained NYC (special ed) class. He has an IEP and is receiving services. He also has ADHD combined type.
What benefits do you hope to gain from the group?
Some relaxation techniques and possibly network with other caregivers. Also, just allow myself some "me" time.

At the last session we addressed the topic of transitions for children of special needs and autism. We address a new topic each Sunday, but there is always the flexibility for group members to deal with emergent issues and obtain support from other group members. This is an open group, so don’t be concerned if you missed one or more sessions. You are always welcome to attend! -

Hi Colleen,
It appears we are the only ones going to The Wizard of Oz this Saturday. As this is the 1st event I've attended I wanted to know the process. Do we just go to the theater and wait outside to buy the tickets together so we can sit together? Should we be exchanging cell phone #s? Sorry for being so naive.
