What makes you especially interested in cemteries? Photography? Famous people? History? All of the above. Or just walking in a peaceful place?

For me, all of the above. I bought a book on cemetery symbology and am interested in the lives that those buried in the famous and not-so-famous plots lived. Green-Wood also is a good birding area, (no, not just the monk parrots) and is peaceful, a nice break from hectic 21st century life.

I am a librarian in Queens who became interested in cemeteries and, especially, the Victorian period, through literature. I also enjoy New York City History and am intrigued how earlier denizens of this city lived. I like to hike, read, and swim.
