Zeitgeist Happy Hour 11/15: A Toast to New York

Greetings from one of the new co-chairs of New York City by the Bay. First off: What a week last week--and what a strange time to be a New Yorker in San Francisco. Here it's been parties, parades, and some great weather, and meanwhile our beloved second home became a national disaster area. I hope everyone's family and friends are safe and dry and managing okay.

This event was originally planned as a "re-energize NYC by the Bay" happy hour; we were thinking a big venue, big crowd, big party. It would still be great to get a nice crowd (come out for this one!), but of course the circumstances are slightly different, and some of you may be dealing with some difficult situations back east. It may be all the more reason to get together and discuss. I for one have felt a bit helpless watching the news from over here and am eager to talk with folks who are also reeling from the images we're seeing.

So let's come out *Thursday 11/15* and toast to New York--in a very San Francisco setting: A cool bar with a great beer garden, happy hour until 8, and some of the city's best burgers. There's lots of outdoor space, so this spot works really nicely for big meetups. (One tip: The bar has a strict "no photos" rule and has been known to throw people out for disobeying. Told you it was very San Francisco heh.)

I'm looking forward to meeting you there. Viva New York!

Cheers,
Steve (New Yorker, 2001 - 2011)

Great get together. Lively crowd and we got a nice spot outdoors; Zeitgeist has good beer and food.

Hi, Rebecca. Great, looking forward to seeing you. I'll stake out a few tables out back--I'm a tall guy with glasses, navy pants, a gray shirt, and a jean jacket (I know, not the most distinctive outfit; should have worn an NYC shirt). See you soon!
