I moved to the East Village as an 8yr old kid from Poland in the early 90's--Hello, culture shock. I'll never forget the punk rock era kids with pink and purple mohawks and crazy piercings. I lived w/my family in a one room apt, true immigrant status. Then we moved to Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and later on Long Island, where I spent every chance I could on the LIRR getting back to the city. But of all my NYC-time, none is better than the days I spent waking up in a tiny (better known as "cozy") beat up pre-war apartment in the West Village where just sitting on the stoop outside was worth the crazy rent alone. Good times. Also, I'll out pace most people on the sidewalk, even in heels, though it is more difficult here with all that incline around every corner, so I'm embracing a slower pace (and flats).
An UWS deli that you never make it to if you live downtown because its "really far" and you have Katz's deli instead ;)

Living in NYC, I always had this secret love affair with SF (even before I ever visited), and without actually planning for it, somehow life brought me here! Moved about 6 months ago for a new job/life/adventure!
