The J/M both stop at Essex/Delancey, walking distance from Abrons Arts Center. You can catch it along 6th avenue at various points (eg: 42nd and 34th streets). See http://mta.info/nyct/maps/subwaymap.pdf . Also click the Meetup "map" link on this page. Then hover over "Traffic" (upper right) and choose "Transit" to overlay the subway map on the street map. It's an easy commute.

    Hi Folks,

I'll be coming into the city from Metro North and would appreciate any suggestions for subway directions to the event.

    Thanks,

I am the Electro-Acoustic Luthier. I make bespoke sounding boards for electronic signals that extend the concept of physical modeling from synthesis into physically constructed spatialization of an instrument's acoustical shape.

Electro-acoustic music can organically blend with traditional instruments and becomes embodied in a way that is impossible with PA, HiFi speakers or musical instrument amplifiers.

The system replaces both PA and recording studio with a unified setup because the electronic sources become acoustic instruments with a dedicated channel for each voice. Every knob in a recording studio or live mixing board is replaced by an equivalent physical and/or acoustical function or electro-acoustical transducer (microphone and speaker). As an acoustician, sound designer, live engineer and recording engineer I do all mixing, balancing, monitoring, EQ, compression, stereo and reverb with acoustics, which feels better than the best of digital or analog circuitry.

I do a unique sort of thing. See-hear my work on vimeo, especially LICORICE MOMENTS, with music by Hubert Howe, and KASSANDRA, A REVERIE, with music by Dinu Ghezzo. I can't attend meetings, but I am interested in working with composers of experimental music and the like, and in presenting my works at meetings on a full screen. I have my own projector.
