New York City Foodies Making A Difference is a Meet-Up for socially conscience “foodies” who want to use their savvy culinary taste to help enhance and empower the lives of a unique group of individuals many may not know much about, Wounded Women Warriors. They are U.S. soldiers and Marines who have been permanently injured in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Their numbers are small, but their needs are great.
How can this group of foodies make a difference in the lives of these very special veterans? By practicing the principle of ‘Pay-It Forward’. This means, reaching out to help meet a need that will benefit another. It’s about tapping into your own generous spirit and discovering how the power of kindness can affect another.
When you choose to attend one of the distinctively fun and delicious New York City Foodies Making A Difference Meet-Ups a nominal $10.00 ‘Pay-It-Forward’ donation will be included in the cost of each gathering. 100% percent of all donations will go directly to the At Ease Life Scholarship fund.
At Ease is a scholarship intended to help ease a specific burden in the veteran’s life. This could include helping to off-set costs associated with adapted housing, an adapted vehicle, or raising a service assisted dog (Paws for Patriots) or any other need required for her to have a sustainable life.
Good food and drinks are one of life’s most glorious pleasures. Sharing it with others while doing a little bit of good can add up to a whole lot. And when you attend a New York Foodies Making A Difference gathering you’ll be helping to create positive change in a Wounded Women Warrior’s life.
There is no other feeling than making a difference in someone else’s life!
