*** If getting a ride, don't forget to help the driver with gas and tolls: $10 is customary***
*** This is not a hike for beginners, nor for people who like to take their time on the trail. We'll be moving at a brisk pace, faster than my usual hikes. There will be no sweep, so hikers must be able to navigate trails on their own ***
Morning: We'll start the day climbing up Breakneck Ridge to Sunset Point, then back via Yellow Trail, past Sugarloaf (7mi, 3,000ft elevation gain, many ups & downs)
Late Lunch: Then we'll go for a sit-down BBQ Lunch
Afternoon: On the way back, we'll hike to either Breakneck Pond or Pine Meadow Lake in Harriman (~4mi) and enjoy the water. Note that the park does not officially allow swimming in these lakes.
Getting a Spot:
Please write in your RSVP if you can offer a ride or need one.
Update your RSVP if you can't make it.
