  • April 28, 2012 · 9:30 AM

***INTERMEDIATE DISTANCE AND PACE. NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS***
***NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, please post if you can give someone a ride***

TIME: Saturday April 28st, meeting 9:30AM at commuter parking area at intersection of Rte 17 North and Rte 17A. From 17North, take ramp on left to 17A and continue straight over overpass, not getting onto 17A. The commuter lot is on your left as soon as you cross the road.

TRAIL DESCRIPTION: We will hike around Sterling Forest area. ~12-14miles moderate miles on lots of hills. Most likely a there and back hike on the AT, no loop.  Intermediate pace, expect to be done around 5. Exact route TBD.

DIRECTIONS: GPS location[masked],[masked]

WHAT TO BRING: Weather should be in the high 50's, windy. I suggest standard day-hiking gear (remember your sunscreen, hat, long sleeve/wind breaker), rain gear, 2.5 liters of water, lunch, snacks and a camera.

MAP: Sterling Forest, ny-nj tc #100

Awesome Hike! Well-planned and organized. 16 miles felt like a walk in the park :-). The group stayed together until the end, and yet we managed to keep a good pace. Fun crowd. Highly recommended.

Hi Julie, can I also get a ride from NYC? Thanks

@Maggie / Shayna: dogs must be leashed at all times as per park rules. If you do bring a dog, I would ask that you hike last in the group to ensure that the dog does not get underfoot and trip people up, as has been the case on prior hikes.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
