About the Hike:
We will meet right outside of the Mohonk Visitor Center in the parking area at 9:15am. We will try and hit the Giant's Workshop, Eagle Cliff, Labyrinth & Lemon Squeeze, etc. The fall foliage will also be great at this time of the year. Plenty of photo ops. Be sure to wear hiking shoes with good traction. And bring a pair of gloves for rock scrambling (bike gloves will do).

Rob: There was a bike tour in Manhattan and all roads were blocked so we are running about 45 minutes late. Can I have your number to call in case we miss you? Thanks!

To avoid further complication, I'll just plan on riding with Jake. But I appreciate the offer.

I love rock scrambles and it's great it's on a Sunday! I will need a ride, tho. Anyone carpooling? I live in Queens.

Omkar, do you still have space? I thought I had a ride from Jake, but I didn't realize I had to confirm.

Plan early arrival, don't be late. The hike will start on time at 9:15am from the visitors center.

    October 20, 2012

  • Rob C.

Please keep in mind that we will be hopping from boulders to boulders and crawling through rock gaps. So if you are claustrophobic, don't have good-traction boots or don't like to use your arms to crawl through gaps, this trip is probably not for you.

    October 19, 2012

    • Katie

I could not find my hiking boots today. I have trail running shoes with deep treads and I just tested their traction against rock and it seemed very good. The only thing they're missing is ankle support. Any opinions about this?

      October 20, 2012

    • Rob C.

It should be fine if the traction is solid against rock.

Anne hi, could you please confirm you can give me a ride tomorrow? I can wait you near 59th street bridge[masked]

Hi. Yes. Meeting at 7am at 56th street &1st Ave. There is a dunkin donuts on the northeast corner of that intersection, look for a black nissan versa hatchback.

      October 20, 2012

    • Rob C.

Dmitry, I do not see your name on the YES list.

Hello... I'm driving from Long Island and will pass thru the city. The easiest place for me to pick up passengers would likely be on the corner of 181st Street and Fort Washington (under the GW bridge) or alternatively on the corner of 56th street and 1st ave. (near the 59th street bridge). Room for 3 passengers.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
