Please use a picture showing your face. Some event hosts require it, and it is always helps to recognize people.

Do you understand that these are social events for hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, etc?

Everything. Local is helpful. I've been thinking of the Himalayas a lot lately. I want to back country ski (need the skiis).

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

Two weeks in the sierra's as a kid and teen from time to time. Some solo work in BC. I've met bears, cougars, a variety or cute little rodents, snakes, poison ivy and a few magnificent views. Difficulty: BC tends to send you straight up and down a lot. Did Mount Kinabalu in Borneo (13,435 ft). Several in the sierra's (13,000+). I rock climb. Have some rope and rescue skills.

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

fast. Or was. Brooklyn without a car hasn't lent itself to a rigorous training regime. I'm more of a hiker than a runner.

I began as a baby in the Sierra's, matured in the Canadian coastal ranges, and now live in Brooklyn. I ski, climb, hike and ride (bike). I'll save my life story for a stormy bivouac .. keep our mind off the thunder.
