Please use a picture showing your face. Some event hosts require it, and it is always helps to recognize people.

Yes. I agree with the rules and guidelines and will of course abide by them.

Do you understand that these are social events for hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

My secondary education included an outward-bound type experience and I have taken hikes and camped throughout the west and northeast.

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, etc?

Long day hikes are my preferred format, but occassional overnight camping trips--even long weekends--are feasible if the number of driving hours is limited (less than five hours).

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

I have taken my family on hikes and cross-country ski trips in the Catskills and rural Connecticut. We have also camped in New Mexico, Arizona, California, Washington, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey (really).

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

I have become an intermediate hiker due to my sedentary urban lifestyle. This could change with experience, but my wife will continue to hike at slow to intermediate speeds, just because.

I have done most--nearly all--of my hiking in the city for too long. I want to get back among trees and hope that joining this group spurs me to fulfill this want.
