Introduction

Louisiana native, moved to NYC a month ago, looking to make friends and get some fresh air.

Have you read the About Us page, and do you agree to abide by the Rules and Guidelines posted on there? (Note the part about your picture showing your face - I will decline your membership if it doesn't)

Yes

Do you understand that these are social events for experienced hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

Yes

Which types of events interest you? (Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, etc)

Short and long day hikes, weekend camping, weekend water activities such as canoeing/kayaking, and white water

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

Yes, most have been at Kisatche National Forest in Louisiana, for about 6-10 miles and with a moderate difficulty level. Recently finished Breakneck to South Mt Beacon to Lambs Hill: 10 miles, strenuous.

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

I'd say intermediate with a high endurance level.

  • Welcome to NYC! I started my life in LA, most of my family still lives there, and my heart is still in the swamps. But Manhattan is pretty cool too.

  • Hi Alida,

Saw your question about bike rentals. Just did this, so my knowledge is fresh. Don't know where you're located but over on the west side (where the ride starts) try these. The first is less pricey for rentals. Enjoy. Ron
