Have you read the About Us page, and do you agree to abide by the Rules and Guidelines posted on there? (Note the part about your picture showing your face - I will decline your membership if it doesn't)

Yes.

Do you understand that these are social events for experienced hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

Yes.

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, etc?

I would be interested in all of the above, but as I become more experienced. At the moment I'm only looking for short, or as the About Us page put it, easy hikes (5-7 miles). I'm in relatively good shape, but don't have much experience and don't want to push it. I plan on starting with a few trips through Discover Outdoors.

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

Extremely minimal experience and only day hiking. The hiking in Malawi went to about 1,000 feet and was a half day trip (6/7 hours) with two breaks (I think each was about a half hour).

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

Probably slow.

Introduction

I've recently become interested in hiking and camping and don't have much experience beyond my trip this past summer to Africa where I spent 28 days traveling and camping though 6 countries in Africa.
