Do you understand that these are social events for experienced hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

Of course

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, etc?

short day hikes for now, weekend camping - beginner level until I can see where I am. Will be training with a professional guide first.

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

I was in the army for a number of years. Canyons in Utah & a few natl parks out west. No rock climbing. up to 5 day treks. some extreme elevations and extended distances while living in southern Peru - mostly the altiplano - Puno, on Lake Titicaca for 18 months. rough terrain & some primitive trails.

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

right now slow. Used to be fast, not sure where I'll be come summer

Been a while since I've been challenged by nature, can't wait to tackle it soon!
