Please use a picture showing your face. Some event hosts require it, and it is always helps to recognize people.

Yes, thanks.

Do you understand that these are social events for hikers, and you are responsible for your own safety at all times?

Yes, no problem with that. I actually lead hikes and backpack trips for AMC, and often go on long solo backpack trips, so am good at being self-sufficient.

Which types of events interest you: Short day hikes, long day hikes, weekend camping, backpacking, winter hiking, world travel, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, etc?

All of the above. I prefer longer day hikes (12-20 mi) & backpack trips, but sometimes a fun, short hike is a nice change of pace. Did the Escarpment Trail hike with Chris D. on 4/14, but only finished approx 20 mi. due to deep snow/hip pain.

Do you have any hiking experience? If yes, where and what kind of trips? Please provide a brief description of length, duration and trail difficulty as this information helps us better plan events suitable for the group.

Hike every weekend, both day hikes & backpacking. Enjoy challenges. Easy day 8-10 mi, typical day 12-15 mi, backpacking avg 20 mi per day, approx 7-10 days,[masked] mi. Love Harriman, Catskills, ADK High Peaks, Whites, Grafton Loop, 100 MW/Katahdin.

Would you say you're a slow, intermediate, or fast hiker?

Intermediate to fast. Day hike pace approx. 3 mph, backpack pace approx. 2.5 mph. ADK High Peaks pace approx. 2 mph.

Introduction

Likes long-distance backpack trips, but also fond of short hikes & long naps.
