Announcing a new Meetup for Hiking & Nature Meetup!

What: Post X-Mas, Half-Off, HIKING sale - Dec 26 - Mt Taurus

When: Sunday, December 26,[masked]:30 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

TIME: Sunday December 26; meeting 10AM on Main Street in Cold Spring by the train station (in front of Depot Restaurant)

TRAIL DESCRIPTION: ~8-10miles strenuous miles around Mt Taurus vicinity. Moderate pace.

LOCATION: Walking/driving from train station to Mt Taurus trailhead.

DIRECTIONS: Driving From NYC take the George Washington Bridge onto
Palisades Parkway. Follow the Palisades to its end and over Bear Mtn bridge. Make a left onto 9D and keep going about 20min. Left onto Rte 301 (Main Street) in Cold Spring and take it all the way down to the end in front of train station. Plan to arrive at 10AM.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: From Grand Central, take East Hudson Metro North line to Cold Spring. Train departs at 8:47 so I suggest getting there earlier to have enough time to buy the ticket. Train arrives in Cold Spring at 10AM.

WHAT TO BRING: Weather should be windy in the 30's. I suggest wearing
hiking boots/sneakers with well-gripping soles, windproof pants/shirt, and take extra jacket/hat/gloves in case it gets too windy & cold on top. Bring headlamp(!!!). Two liters water and snacks/lunch should be enough. Don't forget a camera. Traction devices should not be necessary.
