What we’re about

Welcome to the best indie scene for liberty-lovers in New York.
Tired of bowing to woke authoritarians, thought police, and oppression experts on the Left? Don't fit in with Big Party types or any affiliations on the Right? Feel stifled by the narrow political labels and ideological landscape that claim to represent your unique character and interests?

Then join our new generation of unaffiliated classical liberals, free thinkers and patriots as we guide you off the grid of Big Party and Cancel Culture to a coordinate that is true to your individual sovereignty and creative spirit.

Draw on the timeless philosophy of Agency, Natural Rights and Constitutionalism that inspired thinkers such as John Locke, Ayn Rand and James Madison. Ditch the “Liberal vs Conservative” paradigm and recognize conflicts by their precise name: Authoritarianism vs Individualism, Coercion vs Consent, Globalism vs National Sovereignty, etc.

Why is the word “Republican” attached to the name of this group?
Indie Republic(an) is not named after the GOP nor do we recognize the Party's exclusive usage of that word.

The name of our group—Indie REPUBLICAN—is taken from Article IV Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution and a nod to our republic's Greco-Roman origins and founding principle of Separation of Powers.

“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion;...”

Indie R promotes a DIY ethos, self-mastery, civics, and localism as a practical system for individuals to prosper and succeed against the trends of totalitarianism. In additional to our social events, we conduct workshops and grassroot projects that help our member exercise greater ownership of their public institutions.

Our emphasis on “We the People” and primacy of “Civis Americanus Sum” discards the low-grade labels and affiliations—Left versus Right, Liberal versus Conservative, Democrat versus Republican—that were invented to limit the identity and participation of independents and apolitical Americans in civic affairs.

Consequently, our platform is not oriented around election cycles or political candidates but focused on elevating the individual citizen's role in the upkeep of the American republic.

The name of our group is also an effort to correct the popular misapprehension that America is an unchecked democracy or that democracies are free from autocratic behavior.

The “R” ultimately signals our commitment to improve the constitutional literacy and appreciation of our republic's classical foundations for posterity.

Our series of well-researched talks will give you a scholarly handle on the US Constitution and consequential subjects (e.g., Albany's legislative agenda, state finances, how to run for office, etc.).
You'll get the chance to grow your social and professional network. Our events are conveniently headquartered in various midtown locations in Manhattan.

Let us embolden you to create a world where self-determination, individual property rights and freedom is respected.

--------Memo to a New Generation----------------
“Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions."
Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.”
“The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”
“Liberty and order will never be perfectly safe, until a trespass on the Constitutional Provisions shall be felt with the same keenness that resents an invasion of the dearest rights;...”
~ James Madison
