4 Ways to Shrink Government & book raffle

This meetup will cost $5 collected at the door to defray the costs of the room rental and books to raffled at the start of the meetup. RSVP count understates attendees from other sites.

We'll begin by raffling off copies of "Economics in One Lesson" by Hazlitt, & "Common Sense" by Glenn Beck"-includes the Thomas Paine version as well

We've learned that grassroots community activism works in national elections. Let's get ready to elect politicians truly interested in shrinking the size of government - there are at least 4 things we can do:

1. Memorize the US Constitution. We will be playing Constitution Quest, a board game. This will help us memorize it. Good for teams or fewer players

2. Understand how small government increases prosperity and individual choice. We'll be discussing the first chapter of "Economics in One Lesson" by Hazlitt.

3. In NYC, Practice talking to others about the above. We'll be reviewing some of the conversations in the last chapter of "Waking the Sleeping Giant"

4. Meetup with others interested in shrinking government

Everyone is welcome, whether or not you have the books or read them. If we have a bigger group we may do all the activities concurrently in different corners of the room and then switch activities to enable more participation in small groups.

Together, let's practice our mental and verbal skills and build our numbers.

Outstanding interactive and educational session. Great food and gregarious company in true NYCIR fashion!

Listen up to Dara folks. This lady knows our constitution and asks just the right, unassuming little questions to create very revealing conversations! We're lucky to have her; come and see!!

I'm looking forward to this! I'm very happy to facilitate the board game and practice conversations. The game goes quickly and, for those of you who attended Shane Krauser's event, is a good followup. (though attending the event is NOT a prerequisite!). It's helpful for establishing a foundation in the Constitution. Most reasonable people will come to some agreement when a discussion can be grounded in fundamental Constitutional principles.
