This group is for Koreans to meet other fellow Koreans, here in NYC.
Our group started in Jan/Feb 2012 and has rapidly grown in less than 9 months because of our active schedule and variety of events.
Prerequisite for this group: You MUST provide a real photo of yourself, showing your face.
THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. This is Meetup, there's no reason to be secretive about your identity, so if you don't understand this, we are not the group for you. We encourage a comfortable atmosphere and open attitude towards meeting new faces (not scenic photos or animals, etc.)
You MUST be ethnically Korean (full, half, a quarter, an eighth... however much, if you have Korean blood in you, you are ethnically Korean).
I didn't want to discriminate anyone from joining this group, however I still wanted to make sure this is different from other "Korean" meetup groups in New York City.
This group is very "Member Friendly" and we encourage your feedback/suggestions on what events you would like to participate in. We don't necessarily base our events on "Korean" activities, but provide a wide range of things to do.
If you're looking for language exchange, people in the group are interested in participating. We have 2nd generation Korean Americans who can't speak a word of Korean and also Koreans who recently moved to NY that are hoping to improve their English.
This group does not welcome SOLICITING of your business or if you are doing some sort of recruitment or using the group for other purposes - besides social networking - you will be removed from our group. If you do not understand this, please email me and we can discuss it.
One rule concerning events:
If there are less than 6-8 RSVP's (depending on which event), the meetup event will have to be either rescheduled or canceled.
If you do not SHOW for events you have RSVP'ed for - you will be selectively removed from Events you have RSVP'ed for. Meaning, if we have a large group and people are on a waiting list - you will be removed and then we will allow a new member (with a better attendance history) to attend in your place.
If you no show more than 2-3 times, you will be removed from the group. You must be respectful and considerate to others and this shows that you are not concerned with other people's schedules.
Thank you for your interest and hope to welcome you into the group!
