Introduction
I'm a scientist at Columbia University and fiction writer, born in Germany but I've been in the US since 1975. As a writer I greatly benefit from receiving and giving critiques. I'm writing short stories, few published, and novels, all unpublished.
What inspires you as a writer?
It's a way of living intensely in many parallel universes.
What's the best weather for writing?
Actually when a low pressure system is approaching (I'm not talking about something as awful as Sandy). For some reason, I get very focused and calm and creative in those circumstances.
