the 5000 square foot Monarch Rooftop Lounge – Boasting an impressively expansive interior & exterior – Located at 71 W 35th Street – 18th Floor Penthouse.
Addison’s background spans 15 years of Manhattan nightlife with such recognizable and memorable venues such as Ava Rooftop Lounge at Dream New York, Inc Lounge at The Time Hotel and The Bar at Dream New York.
Monarch opened with cocktail and light fare menu fit for the sizzling summer months in New York City. Boasting an impressively expansive interior and exterior space, Monarch can comfortably accommodate more than 300 guests. The dessert menu consists of delectable hand crafted dishes by Bindi of delicious chocolates & coffee.
The Scandinavian-chic décor, designed by Natalia Todorova of Gwathmey, Seigal, Kaufman Architects, features an indoor lounge that radiates glamour and allures with seductive appeal, seamlessly connecting to the exterior oasis patio with sliding floor to ceiling glass doors. Vintage bricks, white painted hand washed wood panels on the walls, teak and grey custom Terrazzo tiles, and raw iron columns evoke a feeling of a Scandinavian summer home with accents of Manhattan elegance. Black pendants designed by Tom Dixon cast gold shadows on the natural tree form bar counter top and glass lighting fixtures project down to reflect on the modern wood walls. The modern, yet unimposing deep seated upholstered sofas invite guests to relax and bask in the views of Midtown Manhattan, while floor to ceiling silk curtains frame the picturesque view of the iconic Empire State Building.
“We are proud to announce the opening of Monarch” says Richard Addison, owner of Monarch. “Monarch provides every guest with first rate service while remaining on the pulse of New York’s top nightlife – rooftop trends. Our primary goal, at Monarch, is to provide superb Hospitality in one of New York’s most stunning atmospheres.”
