Using design software without having a strong foundation in the principals of design is like trying to build a house without blueprints :). You will waste a lot of time and money before you get even close to where you want to be. With the right guiding principals you can better plan for, trouble shoot and execute your creative projects.
In this meet up we'll discuss the key principals behind good Graphic & Digital Design. This class is lecture only. You will learn some key terms, understand what works and what doesn't and ultimately become more efficient when you are designing pieces on your own.
Interested in Graphic Design? You'll learn how to make better layouts that attract more eyes and communicate more clearly. Learn the key principals of design, the things that make a design good or bad along with visual explanations of some important graphic design terminology along the way.
Interested in Digital Design? You'll learn how to have people spend more time with your digital designs. Learn what people love and hate about digital experiences, how to make digital work better to encourage people to interact with it longer.
Hearing about both Graphic and Digital approaches in the same session you will see how they are very related and you'll also see the ways they differ. You will leave looking at design around you through more scrutinizing lenses. You will know how to better critique the work you and others create.
No computers are necessary, I will provide you with note taking materials.
