Online Card Study: The Star and The Moon

***As this is my first online class, I'm offering it free as a test run. In the future, I will be charging $15 for any online classes.****

This class is a repeat of my recent class on The Star and The Moon in the Major Arcana. Students who RSVP will receive PDF files of all handouts after attending the class. I will mention some Kabbalah, but only so far as what information I believe will add to your own understanding of the cards. In the number 7, we are now past the center of the Tree of Life in the number 6 and starting to move closer to the number 10 -- closer, in a way, to manifest reality.

I will send out email reminders with your log in information the evening before the class. On the day of, I will log into the meeting by 7pm to get everything set up. Please log in before the class starts at 7:30, so we can work out any technical problems or just hang out and talk about Tarot.

*****If you know for sure that you want to attend this class, please RSVP as soon as possible. My online service has attendee limits. *****

In classical astrology, the ruling planet of Aquarius is Saturn. Sorry for the misinformation. However, Venus shows up in The Star as the large eight-pointed star -- as in the the Morning and Evening Star. I confused my information. My bad! In the imagery of the card, the pattern of stars on the card is meant to both represent the 7 planets of classical astrology and a reminder of the glyph for Saturn. I knew that, I just confused the information.

Thanks to all who attended and put up with my floundering with the visuals. I was so nervous, but you all made me forget my nerves and I really had fun.

Definitely would want to do this again. A way to take the class and still be home at a decent hour.

Awesome class as always. I like this format as I can take the classes from home. I also like the fact that you will be offering a YouTube video for those of us that take them

Hi Barbara, I'll be using a webinar service. I've been checking out some of the free services. I also have access to a web meetings service through another online service I have access to.

I've been researching and trying out a variety of free or low-cost webinar services. I've decided to go with Fuze Meeting (also called FuzeBox). It's compatible with all platforms and devices, although you may have to download an app for smart phones/tablets. The basic version is free, but even this version allows for recording classes. I also liked the way the interface works. I've tested the recording function and it worked great. I also like that the free versions doesn't display advertising (as does the free version of AnyMeeting).

Hi All, I scheduled the end of the class for 9:30pm. I plan on covering my material by that time. However, I don't have to end the class at any particular time, and people who want to talk more about Tarot can stay beyond 9:30pm.

Are you going to continue the Friday night classes?

      November 7, 2013

    • Beth P.

Hi Jen, I will be continuing the Friday night classes. At this point, though, I have two upcoming concerts that are cutting into my schedule. I'm hoping to schedule some live classes before Thanksgiving.

i will be using my tablet that has a camera, speaker and a mic. will that work?

    1 · November 7, 2013

    • Beth P.

If I go with AnyMeeting.com, they had apps for attendees with tablets. If I go with BigBlueButton through my online storage site, I'm not clear if it's compatible. At this point, I think I'm going with AnyMeeting, which also allows you to access the audio by phone.

what website will you be using for the webinar? I am on a mac and I just wanted to make sure it is mac compatible. Thank you.

    2 · November 7, 2013

At this point, I think I'm going with AnyMeeting.com. As far as I can tell, this service is mac compatible. However, if you have any problems you can also access the class by phone. I will be sending attendees handouts similar to my slide presentation.

As long as you have an Internet-connected computer with a sound card you should be able to participate. I will send you a link to the online meeting along with any necessary passwords to sign into the meeting.
