July MongoDB User Group

Save the date! We'll be meeting on July 24th at Buddy Media's SoHo offices (note the new address).

Carlo DiCeilico will discuss how Krossover uses MongoDB to power their video editing service designed for athletes and coaches. Krossover uses MongoDB to handle statistics and search, and you'll hear more about how they do it!

Lightning talk from 10gen intern Kaushal Parikh on Edda. Edda is a tool for MongoDB that takes a series of log files and generates easy-to-parse pictures of the represented servers.  We hope that this tool will be helpful to individual MongoDB administrators.  We also anticipate that Edda will enable the 10gen support team to better help our customers when they come to us with complicated problems.

Please get in touch with meghan @ 10gen.com if you are interested in presenting.

Fairly short. The first talk was not terribly enlightening though the product was neat. The second talk, about Edda, was more interesting.

It was a great crowd for my first talk. Everyone was very polite and patient and I had a great time. I also loved Kaushal's talk on Edda - we're definitely interested in possibly using it at Krossover!

I know this guy...we use to work together :P... Please share your findings with me. The issue I m running into is, we use memcache currently but we have been migrating to couchbase. we have done partial conversion however when we tried to migrate the important piece, we saw CPU usage spiked up to 60%. Now looking for other options such as MongoDB or ?????

I'm doing a comparison now but I'm too early to have results.
