Using MongoDB & Python for rapid applications development at DealerTrack

Using MongoDB and Python for rapid applications development at DealerTrack

DealerTrack is a leader in web enabled technologies for the retail automotive industry.

In this talk, Gennadiy Civil, software architect at Dealertrack will go through:

  • Why DealerTrack is using MongoDB
  • How Python and MongoDB work together to improve productivity
  • How DealerTrack is using MongoDB to compliment traditional databases such as Oracle

Gennadiy Civil: My role is to bridge the gap between business and technology. I am an architect who understands the requirements and makes system design decisions that must be made early in a project and ultimately decide what the system will look like when in production.

I am an expert in J2EE technologies, Open Source technologies such as LAMP, Python, Django, SOA, systems integration patterns, ESB technologies (ESB Mule is my favorite), and have extensive experience with the Microsoft platform.

    Hi everyone!
    Can someone help me please?
    I have a collection in Mongdb and I'm try return the elements from a embedded document in the collection using php but I can't. The collections is like that:

    user: "Erik Beel",
    email: "[masked]",

    address: { country: "Unit States",
    city: "Chicago"

    And the PHP code is:

    $cursor = $collection->find( );

    while ($document = $cursor->getNext() )

    echo "Name:".utf8_decode($document['user']).";
    echo" E-mail:" .utf8_decode($document['email']).";
    echo "City:".utf8_decode($document[''])." ;

    And I get the follwong error:

    Notice: Undefined index: in C:\wamp\www\... on line 24

    I tried too $document['address']['city'] and a get the same error
