Monthly Music Hackathon NYC

Saturday, October 20, 2012
Concert 8:00 PM
Hacking starts 10:00 AM
Monthly Music Hackathon NYC is a monthly all-day event for musicians and engineers to create new music-related projects from scratch, develop them throughout ~10 hours, then perform or present them in a concert in the evening.

8 PM Concert

Everyone is welcome. Expect a crazy frenzy of experimentation resulting from the projects hacked together during the day. October will feature colloborations with ensemble-in-residence Hu-Slotkin Duo, on flute and guitar, plus special guest, clarinetist Katie Porter Maxwell. Feel free to come at any time during the day to observe the hacking.

10 AM Hacking

You don't have to be tech-savvy to make a "hack." Just be excited to create and present a music project. This is an opportunity to block off an entire day once a month to focus on your music projects. It's a chance to practice activities central to any kind of creation: brainstorming new ideas, rapid prototyping and iteration, completing a finished product in limited time, collaboratively crafting a concert, and presenting your work. Please arrive by 2 PM if you want to present in the concert.
Please forward this invitation far and wide and invite friends.
