As you may know, the NY Philosophy organizer team is always ready to experiment with unique topics and formats. This event is definitely one of our most unusual! We are headed back to Irish Rogue for another multimedia philosophy event, this time examining the power of suggestion. For this special event, we will have video clips to spur discussion and the entire event will be facilitated by a hypnotist! Join us for a unique, fun, experiential, and discussion-filled evening of hypnosis meets philosophy. Philosopher and hypnotist Scott Weiner will lead us in activities concerning trance, the mind-body connection, the placebo effect, reality and perception, and the power of suggestion and imagination. To lead each round of discussion, a related clip on the nature of reality and suggestion from The Matrix will also be shown. We will then meet in small groups to discuss the philosophical implications of the experiences. The small discussion groups will change for each round of discussions, so you will have the opportunity to meet and talk with many of the people at this event. == About the Presenter == Our presenter and facilitator is Scott E.
