We have lost our current venue due to an outdoor event by 17 Magazine (long story, I'll skip the gory details). Combined with the fact that I have received several requests for 'more time' to finish the reading, I have reserved the back room at The Village Pourhouse for one week from today. Below is the updated description!
Our next philosophy meeting is on evolution and is centered around one of the most significant books on evolution and natural ethics, Richard Dawkins's "The Selfish Gene." This seminal book has laid the foundation for a widely-accepted, yet still controversial, perspective on how living things develop and why they act the way they do.
For this event, you are requested to read the book. If you show up and have not read the book, well, we will have a special section just for you :-).
At the very least, please read the Wikipedia summary
The location is at the Vegas Room at The Village Pourhouse, the back room of a popular spot in the East Village. The discussions will begin at 7PM; there is a happy hour and social from 6-7, so get there early!
For the happy hour, there will be:
- $1 Bud and Bud Light Drafts
- 2 For 1 Sauza Margaritas
- 2 For 1 Absolut Cocktails
- 2 For 1 Level Cocktails
Hope to see you there!
