The SHSNY Book Club has a new and different program this month. Two books of very brief essays by famous scientists, artists, and other intellectuals -- read some or read all, and join in the discussion Thursday evening, November 29th.

What Is Your Dangerous Idea? Today's Leading Thinkers on the Unthinkable, and

The Next 50 Years: Science in the First Half of the 21st Century.

From "Emotional Intelligence" to the "Domestication of Biotechnology" to "Everything is Pointless," the range of subjects is as broad as you'd like. (Check out edge.org, if you're not already familiar with it, to see the fermentation vat for some of these.)

6:30-8 pm, Thursday evening, November 29, at the Muhenberg Public Library (3rd flr),
209 W. 23rd St. (at 7th Ave). Program of the Secular Humanist Society of New York's Book Club. shsny.org
