SHSNY Book Club discussing the Tipping Point Thursday

"Malcolm Gladwell proposes a fascinating and possibly useful theory in ‘The Tipping Point’,” said the New York Times when it was first published in 2000. The book has since become an influential popular classic. It is written engagingly in language accessible to those who don’t work with statistics, but it has given us all new insights into sociology. Treating some social activities as viruses that can spread suddenly into “epidemics,” he tries to identify the “tipping point” at which many small events suddenly turn into massive phenomena, whether a major fashion trend or a crime wave.

Book Club meetings are free, and open to all. Thursday evening, June 18, 6:30-8:00. Some of us go out to eat afterward and you're invited. The Muhlenberg Public Library is centrally located at 209 W. 23rd St (7th Ave.)
Third Floor community room. Elevator at street level.

The Secular Humanist Society of New York sponsors the book club, but it's open to members and non-members alike.
