Has anyone heard of Dr. Simon Starkey at Avian and Exotics on the upper west side of Manhattan?

Dr. Alex Wilson is on vacation. This guy seemed excellent. He says he's performed several rat surgeries (spaying). I am planning to have him to do the procedure on two of my rats.

As of now, the person whom I am recommending as best trained and highly experienced in rat spays is Dr. Anthony A. Pilny, whom you find at the start of this discussion:

http://www.meetup.com...

Please click on the link above. Dr. Pilny can be seen at the New York City and Yonkers locations.

I will privately email you his email address so you may ask about cost and absolutely all questions that you wish.

Thank you,

Raquel

Hi,

UPDATE: A member recently told me that St. Mark's Hospital does not see rats or didn't have a rat vet when she called, so please double check if they have a rat vet.

I just added Dr. Dan Mones, VMD, to the list of veterinarians at St. Mark's Hospital that see rats:

Monday, June 1, 2009, Riverdale foster girls, "daughter" and her mom, kink-lola, met Dr. Susan Prattis and were spayed. Dr. Prattis did an excellent job on them.

Dr. Saver is an excellent doctor who's owned rats for many years. This clinic only services small animals: cats, cavies, rats, hamsters etc.. She's one of the few veterinarians in the area who is very knowledgeable of rats in particular. She's done amazing work with rat neuters and spays. Prices are affordable as well, and they will never charge you for surprise operations or treatments. She actually examines your pet before neutering or spaying or anytype of treatment before hand to make sure your pet can take treatment. biggrin
