Camping on the Lake

Let's spend some time outdoors roasting marshmallows by the fire relaxing by a lake in the middle of nowhere. Suggestions on lakeside campsites are welcome.  Como Lake, Flathead, Seeley, Etc.  Where would you like to go?

I won't be able to make the camping trip at Seeley Lake because of a personal matter that just came up. Maybe next time.

I just now sent an e-mail around with our camping plans. If you didn't get it or have any questions, let me know!

Depending on how many people are coming, could your husband "reserve" 1 or 2 more sites? I can also go to Seeley early if needed.

Chris i was hoping to see you friday at the observatory - but it was so dark! I was going to see if you wanted to go down with him earlier in the day. He was thinking of a round of golf maybe, if you golf.

I do not golf, however I drive the cart very well:) I'm very excited for this, it will be my first full weekend in missoula. I don't know where anything is, so any specific directions would be helpful( I googled the campground)

I will plan on going. Seeley or Como both sound ok.

Ron, if you are planning to attend, be sure to RSVP. There is only one open space, so I'd hate for you to miss outh! Thanks!

I am unable to reserve a spot at Big Larch. Any suggestions?

It looks like just the two group sites are booked, the other 48 sites are first come first serve. My husband was going to head down early to reserve a site. I am not familiar with this site but i hear 3 tents can fit on one individual campground. We can carpool down and get a couple of adjacent sites. That or find a different campground. Thoughts?

    Seeley Lake has my vote.

Thoughts: The Whitehouse Campground on the Clearwater River on Hwy 12: http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/...

Or The Big Larch Campground at Seeley Lake: http://www.fs.usda.gov/wps/port...

These are both about an hour out of Missoula, both offer great places to cool off in the water. Check them out and let me know what works.
It would be best to meet at one place in town and carpool to the campsite so we don't have too many cars out there.
