Hey members,
There is stuff at www.gocolumbus.com  they have family friendly events to look at.  They usually have where the festivals, and other events going on in Columbus are.  There is always the zoo, metro parks, Franklin park conservatory, Cosi, Art museum, they always have programs for children. One can schedule play dates at kid friendly places like Chuckie Cheese, Dave and Busters, Magic Mountain,  movie at the Imax on RT 23 or AMC Easton Town Center.  It is almost holiday shopping time, we can do a day out where kids can shop for friends and family then do lunch.
I am single with no kids, but I helped raise my nephews, they are adults now.  I do have friends with kids always looking for things to do with them like others are.

Hi Shon,

Where did you move from?  I have only been here for about 4 months myself from San Francisco.

I know on occasion there are family events planned.  Usually the other organizers post those events though.  Even the other organizers have be quiet and MIA so I'm not sure when they are planning the family events.  I myself am 30 and unmarried so the events that I put on are for adults mostly.

I guess that is to be expected from MeetUp.com.  It is a great concept but it can be very inconsistent and not always well organized.

Cheers,
Corey

Hi Corey,
Thanks for all of the information.  I am new not only to the town, but to the state as well.  Problem is, I am also a single parent to two children and I have not seen anything that is family friendly.  I joined the group with the notion that there would be family friendly events planned as well.  Maybe it is not sleeping in front of the tv.  I would love to hear why others have been quiet.

Hello everyone in New-In-Town land!

Do you have weekend plans yet? There's plenty of stuff planned but I've noticed that the majority of this group has been a little quiet lately? Did you all fall asleep in front of the TV? :p

We all joined this group to get out and about around town and meet some fun people... so let's do it!

Tonight there is a small (unscheduled) group going out to BoMA to see the Von Bondies. Tomorrow there is a downtown rooftop BBQ then the OSU game (email me for details), and of course Sunday is the Cedar Point trip. I've got a total of 6 people going to ride the rollercoasters with me but there's always more fun with more people.

I've run nearly 10 events in a little over a month so there's definitely no shortage of fun stuff to do. But I'd like to see all of your smiling faces so come on out and join the fun.

Cheers
Corey
