I have the opportunity to do a night time NOLA city scape photo shoot with an experienced professional photographer. I was thinking we could all meet at the Algiers Point ferry terminal parking lot and then walk down the levee to an acceptable place for our photo shoot around twilight and night time. For anyone interested, we can also then go back to a classroom in Metairie (Lakeside photoworks classroom), and learn how to stitch the photos together. You are welcome to bring your laptop that has Elements or another photo program on it to learn how to do this hands on. A computer will also be available at the classroom to process your image if you would like to do that. You do not have to go back to the classroom to go out and do the photo shoot by the river. I figured this would be a fun chance to do a photo shoot I have been wanting to do since I moved here! So why not open it up to others! This will be a more instructional based Meetup, so I am limiting it to 12 people. Please DO NOT RSVP if you know you really can't make it.
Meet at the Ferry Terminal parking lot over in Algiers points at 7:30pm. We will then be driving over to Metairie for the classroom portion for those that would like to attend. This is a free learning opportunity for anyone who is interested.
You will need: DSLR, a standard lens (18-55 type) (usually come with your cameras), a stable tripod, a fully charged camera battery (long exposure shots tend to really drain camera batteries so this point is imperative) and a positive attitude! Walking shoes are recommended as we will be walking down the levee for that "perfect spot" shot.
Optional: Your laptop with a photo processing program such as Elements, USB jump drive to upload your finish stitched image to (if not using your own computer), bug spray (you are in Louisiana), bottle of water (it is hot in Louisiana)
Of course this is weather dependent, so if we end up with some storms and rain, we can try to reschedule for a clearer evening.
