Photo Shoot at Abandoned Six Flags

  • This location is shown only to members

  • Join us for a model shoot in the old abandoned Six Flags Park, the sights were amazing. It is due to be torn down in January so the opportunity has come up to go and document what once was. If you are interested in doing some modeling contact me.
We can carpool or meet @ the location. Props and costumes will be available for the models.

Hey Group ... I'd STILL like to do the Six Flags thing. Are you sure we'd be getting in the way of the film crew if we shot our stuff in a different spot, or have they taken over the whole place? Was really looking forward to this.

Rebecca, I'm wondering how soon we can get at least a tentative date for the rescheduled shoot. I (and 4 others from my work) need to request the day off at least 16 days before the event in order to be able to attend. Also, I had already rented lenses for the (now defunct) event on the 28th; knowing the day farther in advance would definitely help shipping costs if I decide to do that again. Thank you!

Rebecca, do you think this is another possibility for senor Muerte to manifest for? If not, I am guessing I can throw all manner of wild clown-like outfit pieces together to wear. Thoughts? :-D

hi All...We scouted the area today and are going to get the permission that is required from the city. If the city will not grant the permission we can shoot directly from the levee bank across from the park and the parking lot to the back of the facility. We shot there today and talked with a film crew that is shooting there. We will see whats up with the city on Monday. cheers

I'm going to come, but I'm going to skip on the Vietnamese restaurant. Are we still scheduled to meet in front of the park at 2:30 p.m.?

That's great Sarah, thanks! Best to be legal in shoot locations of this nature, and safety is of the utmost importance on this one for sure, being on such dilapidated property.

Hi All- Access to the facilities should be confirmed by tomorrow or Sunday at the latest. Stay tuned for more details. Gerard- I talked to Rebecca today and let's definitely plan to meet at the Vietnamese restaurant.

If anyone is interested, some of us will be meeting before this outing at an awesome Vietnamese restaurant called Dong Phoung. It is located at:
    14207 Chef Menteur Highway
    New Orleans, LA 70129
    (504)[masked]
This is not very far from Paris Road. I think that meeting there around 12:30 should give plenty of time to enjoy some exotic cuisine that is very inexpensive but extremely high quality. I don't think that they take reservations but it is a pretty big place.

Is there anyone with information regarding access of the area for this shoot yet?

Where do we send potential models that may be interested? Who do they email?

I'd like to go to this, but working in sccurity myself, I know how tricky access can be. Please confirm tha t the group has obtained permission to enter the area, I'll try and make it. I will not go without the confirmation ... Thanks.

I like this idea I just hope that I will be available when the time is chosen.

My idea are the models should be dress as distorted destress carnival characters.

I'd be interested in modeling for this great group again. Any ideas on what the models should be and represent in this obliterated and deserted amusement park? Possibly haunting remnants of happier times yearning for their return?

Nola.com did a story the other day on Six Flags. They had a great video. Worth watching! http://www.nola.com/katrina/ind...

Count me in. This idea sound really fun. Especially if it involves some models. I have never there before.
Just tell me the time and date and how to get there.
