Introduction to Landscape Photography for Beginning to Intermediate Photographers
with John Pickles
Friday, January 24, 2014
12 to 4 p.m.

Cost: $20 Longue Vue members or Louisiana Master Naturalists; $30 nonmembers

Join Longue Vue for a landscape photography workshop series with award-winning nature photographer John Pickles. Learn how best to capture the landscape in photographs at the historical Longue Vue House and Gardens.

In addition to learning basic camera skills, participants will learn:
- How to capture a properly exposed photo
- How to control the background in the photo
- How to capture properly exposed landscapes that are sharp from near to far field

The first half of the class will be an indoor workshop in the Playhouse.  The second portion of the program will include taking photographs outside.

This is a course for beginning and intermediate level photographers.  All registrants should be familiar with their camera controls.

The list of useful camera equipment is endless; you may bring what you like from your collection, including a tripod and your camera manual.

Unfortunately, I cannot attend class today. I'm coming in from BR and DOTD has advised against driving. Hope that it will be rescheduled, as I was looking forward to attending!

I am registered for this class and was looking forward to it. However, it doesn't look as if I will make it due to the icy travel conditions. I live on the NS in Mandeville and as of now the Causeway is closed. I guess I will contact Hilairie for a refund. :-(

Sorry I can't make this workshop. I know everyone will really enjoy John Pickles, his first workshop that I attended was great.

I returned here to assure that I am included in the workshop, yet it appears I am still on the waiting list. The only change I am allowed to make to my RSVP is to remove myself from the waiting list and say I will not attend. Yet I was under the impression that I paid (at least $20 of it) and was confirmed a spot due to their emails. Pardon my rambling but I just wanted to explain my situation fully so as to receive the proper assistance. Help! Thanks in advance!! Dina

MeetUp was used to advertise the event, but it is not used for Longue Vue to confirm your attendance. The payment you made confirmed your spot.

Sorry John, I am having to cancel my attending this meet-up. Family in town.

Okay, please forgive me but I'm a bit confused. I've been on this waiting list for maybe a week. I received an email yesterday from Longue Vue stating that there were spots still available and all I had to do was to click on the link embedded in the email to make payment to ensure a spot. I followed that link this morning. I registered to their website as directed, then clicked on the "white link to purchase". I was directed to a payment page ($20 for members page, which I am not). I submitted my payment via debit card. I received one "Thank you for Registering to Our Site" email and two "Payment Confirmation" emails.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
